OpenClaw

OpenClaw Integration with DataEyesAI#

This guide will walk you through connecting DataEyesAI to OpenClaw via the Custom Provider configuration using the OpenAI-compatible interface.

1. Prerequisites#

Before you begin, log in to the DataEyesAI console to create and copy your API Key. Prepare the following information for the configuration steps ahead:

2. Install OpenClaw#

If you have not yet installed OpenClaw, open a terminal or PowerShell and run one of the following commands. OpenClaw recommends Node 24 (compatible with Node 22 LTS). Check your current version with:

3. Launch the Configuration Wizard#

After installation, if the configuration wizard did not start automatically, run the following command to begin initialization (this sets up authentication, the gateway, and other base settings):
Note: If you have previously initialized OpenClaw, simply run openclaw onboard to reconfigure.

4. Select and Configure the Provider#

In the CLI interactive interface, follow these specific steps to complete the DataEyes integration:

Prompt: I understand this is personal-by-default and shared/multi-user use requires lock-down. Continue?

Model/auth provider: Select Custom Provider.

Enter Base URL: Type https://platform.dataeyes.ai/v1
(Note: If you experience network instability, you may also try the backup nodes https://platform.dataeyes.ai/v1 or https://cloud-hk.dataeyes.ai/v1)

Enter API Key: Paste your raw key directly, e.g. sk-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
6.
Select compatibility type: Choose OpenAI-compatible.
7.
Enter Model ID: Type the name of the model you want to use, e.g. gpt-5.4.
8.
Set Endpoint ID: Give this configuration a memorable name, e.g. dataeyes-main, to make it easy to manage multiple endpoints later.

5. Complete Setup and Test#

Follow the remaining wizard prompts to complete any optional configuration (such as enabling channels or installing skills). For a first-time test, it is recommended to complete the minimal installation.
After setup, the quickest way to test is to launch the Dashboard for web-based interaction:

You can then open your browser and go to http://127.0.0.1:18789/, send your first message to the assistant, and experience the fast response powered by DataEyesAI!

FAQ#

Q1: API Key authentication failed — what should I do?
Check whether you accidentally entered Bearer sk-.... Make sure only the raw string starting with sk- is filled in.
Verify that the Base URL you entered correctly includes the /v1 suffix.
Q2: Model unavailable or model not found?
Check that the Model ID you entered is spelled correctly and that the model is active on the DataEyesAI platform (not retired, and account has sufficient balance).
Q3: Connection timeout or Dashboard won't open?
Run openclaw gateway status to confirm the local gateway service is running.
Check whether your local network has any access restrictions on the configured Base URL.
